work more

the problem with self-help is that if you accept a treatment, you are agreeing to symptoms that you necessarily don't have. everyone has a bad day.

so to counter this, do the reverse, and accept things that only make you agree to the things you want to be - smart, effective, funny. the only thing there is to accept that confirms these traits is more responsibility at work.

stop wasting time on thinking you have to crank yourself (via self-help) up to get the job done, and just start getting the job done.

work melts the "supposed" symptom.

utterly

be utterly miserable (work) or utterly fabulous, no in between.

trying to work and be fabulous, will get you neither.

it's just anticipation

90% of the time uneasiness is just from the anticipation of the act, rather from the act itself.

happiness: overrated

Americans love to be happy — just look at the self-help section of your local book store. But writer and professor Eric Wilson thinks happiness is overrated. After trying yoga, salads, tai-chi, and a few of those self-help tomes, Wilson concluded: "The road to hell is paved with happy plans." -npr
